PrivacyPolicy
Ateamo is a platform for organizing and managing adult soccer leagues. We collect only the information we need to run your leagues, coordinate your teams, and keep your games on track. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Section 01
What We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Ateamo. Here's a straightforward breakdown:
Account Basics
When you sign up, we collect your name, email, phone number, and optionally a username, date of birth, mailing address, and profile photo.
Sign-In Information
We support email/password sign-in and Google sign-in. Passwords are always hashed — we never store them in plain text. If you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information from your Google account.
Team & League Activity
This is the core of what Ateamo does. We store your team memberships, roles (player, captain, admin), RSVP responses, attendance, game scores, player positions, jersey numbers, and disciplinary records like fouls and suspensions.
Event Registration
When you register for leagues or tournaments, we collect the registration details you provide — contact info, address, and any comments you include.
Payments
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your credit card or bank account numbers. We do keep a record of transaction amounts, fees, and payment status so you have a history.
Venues & Location
We store venue names, addresses, and map coordinates so you know where your games are. If you use our activity tracking features, we may also collect GPS location data during activities.
Activity & Fitness
If you opt in to activity tracking, we may collect data like distance, duration, heart rate, calories, speed, and elevation. This is entirely optional.
Messages
Ateamo includes team chat and direct messaging. We store your messages and any files you share so your conversations are available when you need them.
Technical Data
Like most web services, we automatically collect basic technical information: browser type, operating system, IP address, and general usage data (pages viewed, features used). We use this to keep the platform running smoothly.
Section 02
Why We Collect It
We use your information to:
- Run your account and provide the platform
- Manage teams, leagues, schedules, and events
- Process payments securely through our payment partners
- Enable team chat, notifications, and communications

- Monitor for bugs and improve the platform
- Comply with legal obligations
For our EEA users
Under the GDPR, we process your data based on: the performance of our contract with you (providing the service), legitimate interests (improving the platform and fixing bugs), your consent (marketing communications, optional features like activity tracking), and legal obligations where applicable. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, token-based authentication, role-based access controls, and input sanitization.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Section 07
Data Exports
League administrators can export player rosters and contact information for league management purposes. Admins who export data are responsible for handling it in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can manage cookie settings through your browser. Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals — we don't currently respond to these as there's no uniform standard, but we'll update this policy if one is established.
Section 09
Communications
We send two types of email: transactional (account verification, password resets, payment confirmations, event notifications) and marketing (updates, promotions, league news). Transactional emails are necessary for your account and can't be turned off while your account is active. You can opt out of marketing emails anytime via the unsubscribe link or your notification settings.
SMS
If you opt in to SMS notifications, you may receive texts for verification codes, event reminders, schedule changes, and team communications. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out anytime in your notification settings or by contacting us. Opting out of SMS won't affect your ability to use Ateamo.
Push Notifications
We send push notifications for real-time updates like chat messages, RSVP reminders, and schedule changes. You can manage these in your device settings or your Ateamo notification preferences.
Section 10
Third-Party Links
Our platform may link to third-party websites and services. We're not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.
Section 11
Children's Privacy
Ateamo is designed for adult soccer leagues and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at hello@ateamo.com and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.
Section 12
International Data Transfers
Ateamo is based in the United States and our data is hosted here. If you use Ateamo from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. For EEA users, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and data processing agreements with our service providers.
Section 13
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with an updated effective date. If we make material changes, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance through the platform or by email.
